The Gloria Story’s official website is: www.thegloriastory.com
The Gloria Story is a mashup of punk rock attitude with 70’s hard rock energy – always with a dark twist and a catchy analogue sound. Their debut album “Shades of White” instantly hit the #1 spot on Swedish rock charts upon it’s release in 2011. The band has also been awarded with a platinum disc for their hit single “OH NO (2010)”. On their latest effort “Born to Lose (2013)” you will find a dirtier, more bass driven and heavier sounding The Gloria Story. No ballads, no fillers, no AoR. Just catchy punk rock melodies over chewy riffing. The concept of mixing party oriented, lo-tech rock and roll with pure entertainment has made The Gloria Story into one of the most promising Swedish touringmachines in recent years. It’s all about reinventing the sounds of the 70’s, and stopping at nothing to give their audience a great show.

THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 14
ROUNDHOUSE, CAMDEN, LONDON
Orange Amplification Presents The Classic Rock Roll Of Honour in association with currencies.co.uk enters its ninth year and is proud to announce the first of this year’s winners: Black Sabbath as Living Legends. The biggest award of the night will be presented to the Godfathers of Heavy Metal at London’s Roundhouse on Tuesday, November 14.
Also, this year’s proceedings will be brought to a close by Suffolk’s finest glam-rockers, The Darkness. Justin and co. will wrap up the evening with their high-octane theatrical rock in front of an audience of the great and good of the music world.
Classic Rock has also announced its shortlist for the coveted reader-voted categories for this year’s Roll Of Honour, and fans can cast their all-important vote now at www.classicrockmagazine.com/awards
Speaking in his own inimitable way about the Living Legend award, Sabbath’s Ozzy Osbourne says: “It’s good to be a living legend. It’s better than being a dead one.” Following their triumphant return to the top of the album charts with their first release with Ozzy in three-and-a-half decades, the band are being hailed by critics and fans alike. The CRROH Living Legend Award will be the icing on the cake of the Brummies’ all-conquering return. Joining Ozzy to collect the award will be fellow band members Geezer Butler and Tony Iommi.
The Living Legend Award has become one of the most highly coveted awards in the music industry. It is only ever awarded to those artists who have truly cemented their place in the rock pantheon – with past winners including ZZ Top, Jeff Beck, Alice Cooper, Jimmy Page, Lemmy and Iggy Pop. This year Ozzy Osbourne picks up his second title – he won as a solo artist in 2008 – alongside his bandmates.
Rock has hit the headlines even more this year with groundbreaking gigs and tours including the Rolling Stones returning to Hyde Park and headlining Glastonbury, Bon Jovi helping out the Spanish and European economies with cheap tickets on sale, Status Quo hitting the silver screen, Pink Floyd’s one million plays on Spotify and of course the unexpected return of David Bowie. This year’s Roll Of Honour will doubtless cause a few more headlines!
MD of Team Rock Chris Ingham says: “It’s been another amazing year for high-voltage rock’n’roll and Classic Rock is honoured to be hosting our annual awards show at the Roundhouse again. We’re delighted to welcome Black Sabbath to collect our Living Legend Award. It’s wholly deserved as not only do they have a career to celebrate, but Ozzy, Geezer and Tony blasted back with a brilliant new album in 2013 that reminded us all how it should be done. Rest assured, the Roll Of Honour will be another great night of rock’n’roll celebration and moving speeches, and will close with a live set from The Darkness that will no doubt need to be seen to be believed!”
The Classic Rock Roll Of Honour is one of the most highly respected ceremonies of the music year and always attracts the biggest names in the world of rock. Recognition at this must-attend event is the pinnacle of every musician’s career as they join the list of past winners.
This year’s awards will again be held at the legendary Roundhouse in Camden, London on Thursday November, 14

Classic Rock is proud to premiere the latest video from Black Star Riders. View Hey Judas below.
It’s taken from their debut album All Hell Breaks Loose, which was released to acclaim last week, and which Classic Rock debuted.
Despite only have just begun their recording career, frontman Ricky Warwick says they’re in for the long haul, with more studio sessions an important part of the plan. He reports: “Kevin Shirley captured an energy and attitude that does not sound like anyone else. Yes, we have a connection to Thin Lizzy – but I do think we have a unique sound, which I really love and I don’t see the point of changing that.
“I like to think we’ll keep recording the best songs we can, keep the sound that we have and try to develop it even more.”
